– What is the purpose of writing Amrta-pravaha-bhasya on Caitanya-caritamrta?

– I offer my humble obeisances unto the lotus feet of Sri Caitanya, Sri Nityananda, Sri Advaita (the storekeeper of love of God), Haridasa, Svarupa Gosai, Sri Vamsivadanananda, Sarvabhauma Bhattacharya, Ramananda Raya, Sri Rupa, Sri Sanatana, Sri Jiva, Gopala Bhatta, Raghunatha dasa, Raghunatha Bhatta, Sivananda, Kavi-Karnapura, Narottama, Srinivasa, Ramacandra, Krsnadasa, Baladeva Vidyabhusana and Visvanatha Cakravarti.

By the mercy of these great devotees of the Lord, I wrote an elaborate commentary called Amrta-pravaha-bhasya on Sri Caitanya-caritamrta for the devotees to study. The descriptions of Sri Gaura are just like the ocean of nectar. Out of compassion, Krsnadasa Kaviraja, who is floating in the nectar, has delivered that flow of nectar. The Vaishnavas want to sooth their lives by drinking the nectarean descriptions in his book.

The devotees ordered me, who has nothing to give materially, to write a commentary on Sri Caitanya-caritamrta. Taking the orders of the devotees on my head, I carefully composed this commentary and offered it to the devotees for their pleasure. (Mangalacarana of Amrta-pravaha-bhasya)

Natural Brotherhood (Bhaktivinoda Thakura):

BhaktiVinoda Thakura

"Gradually, when the offensive portions of the established religions are destroyed, there will be no more differences in the bhajana performed by the various Sampradayas nor any quarrel between them.

Then as brothers, the people of all castes and countries will spontaneously chant the Holy Names of the Supreme Lord together.

At that time, no one will hate anyone or consider others dogeaters; nor will anyone be overwhelmed by the pride of high birth.

The living entities will not forget the principle of natural brotherhood."
