Hearing kirtana from professional singers and illicit association with women

– Do pure Vaishnavas approve of hearing hari-kirtana from the mouths of professional singers?

– Professional singers have neither associated with real sadhus nor properly understood the Vaishnava conclusion. Their words therefore strike the ears of Vaishnavas like thunderbolts. (Sajjana-toshani 6/2)

All living entities are female by nature; still junior Haridasa was rejected by the Lord for his aparadha of conversing with a woman. Distorting the real meaning of the above phrase that "all living entities are female," cunning people create various methods for gratifying their senses. Saintly persons and Vaishnavas should ignore them. A grihastha associating with his wife is not a limb of devotional service. Such association is accepted only for the sake of maintaining family life. (Sajjana-toshani 5/6)
