– What are the characteristics of Sri Gopala Bhatta Goswami?

– From his childhood, Gopala Bhatta was a staunch follower of the Vaishnava religion.

He properly studied the Vedas and other Vedic literature from his uncle, Sri Prabhodananda Sarasvati, who was a wandering mendicant.

When Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu traveled to South India to bestow His mercy on the residents there, He met Gopala Bhatta. When they met, Gopala Bhatta took shelter at Sri Mahaprabhu’s lotus feet.

The most merciful Mahaprabhu empowered him by showering special mercy upon him.

On the strength of this empowerment, Gopala Bhatta left home, went to Sri Vrndavana and in the association of Sri Rupa, discovered many lost holy places of Sri Vrndavana and compiled many books on devotional service and Vaishnava smrti.

By the order of Sri Rupa, he manifested the service of Sri Radha-Ramana in Vrndavana. (Sajjana-toshani 2/7)

Natural Brotherhood (Bhaktivinoda Thakura):

BhaktiVinoda Thakura

"Gradually, when the offensive portions of the established religions are destroyed, there will be no more differences in the bhajana performed by the various Sampradayas nor any quarrel between them.

Then as brothers, the people of all castes and countries will spontaneously chant the Holy Names of the Supreme Lord together.

At that time, no one will hate anyone or consider others dogeaters; nor will anyone be overwhelmed by the pride of high birth.

The living entities will not forget the principle of natural brotherhood."
